Quality & compliance
Selling a physical product in Europe means paperwork long before it means marketing. Here is what sits behind each Chelo listing.
From drawing to doorstep
Supplier selection
We shortlist manufacturers who already produce the category, ask for samples, and buy competing products to compare against.
Sampling
We order and use the samples ourselves for several weeks before committing to a production run.
Pre-shipment inspection
An independent inspector — V-Trust on our glass range — checks the batch against an agreed specification.
Customs and compliance
Duties, CE marking, WEEE and EPR registrations are settled before the goods reach the warehouse.
Amazon fulfilment
Stock goes into Amazon's European network; returns and customer service run through your Amazon account.
What we file, and why
CE marking
Mandatory conformity marking for the electrical products in the range, covering safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
WEEE / DEEE
Electrical waste registration. The mini waffle maker is declared in category 5, small appliances.
EPR France
Extended producer responsibility: packaging and electrical contributions are paid for every unit sold in France.
VAT registration
Registered for VAT in the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain, with returns filed by an accredited agent.
BPA-free materials
Food-contact parts are declared BPA-free by the manufacturer and verified at inspection.
Third-party inspection
An independent inspection report is issued before each shipment leaves the factory.

Materials
Glass for storage, because it does not hold odours and survives a thousand dishwasher cycles. Rigid lacquered panels for the furniture, because a tray that flexes is a tray that spills. Silicone for seals, because rubber hardens. Where we use plastic, we say so plainly — the detangling brush is plastic, and pretending otherwise would be silly.
Everything in one place
The Chelo store on Amazon carries every product, with reviews and next-day delivery.
